- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Trade Events Specialist for a hybrid contract opportunity in Santa Monica, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 2+ Years of experience with tradeshows, events, and hospitality event management.
- Experience with and knowledge of the consumer package goods industry.
- Production and project management experience.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and project management competencies.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment is a must.
- Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate cross-department networking.
- Conscientious, strong attention to detail, self-starting.
- Exceptional communication skills, including presenting and collaboration abilities.
- Creative mind, experience working with Agencies or Production suppliers preferred.
- Strong conceptual thinking and design critiquing skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly to changes in deadlines.
- Experience with budget tracking and expense reconciliation.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The purpose of the Trade Events team is to drive objectives at all industry events, including conferences, trade shows, and other trade-relevant meetings. The Trade Events Specialist (contractor), executes against our clientsTrade Events strategy for all lower tier On and Off premise trade shows and events. Their responsibilities for lower tier execution includes ordering services, shipment of kits, reconciliation of budget as well as additional tasks. They are also responsible for working with the Trade Events Managers to support the TED Portable Program, ensuring its properties are up to date and premium. The TES role is not limited to the above but will work as a support role to other Trade Event Department roles.- Follow strategy set by Trade Event Department for execution of trade events.
- Collaborating with all channels Key Account internal stakeholders, Trade Marketing, and organizers to execute the strategy and event requirements.
- Communicate with all departments and stakeholders of changes to timeline and scope.
- Remove communication barriers and connect the dots to keep the projects moving.
- Joins appropriate trade events groups, networks, and communities.
- Support updating and creating event execution guides for both on and off premise.
- Support of booth staff training – TED (Trade Events Department) Talks, Trade Events How to Guide delvelopment.
- Connects assets to industry partners in ways that build credibility and leverage Brand awareness.
- Asana optimization support.
- Research and present concepts and ideas to the key stakeholders internal and external for all Tier 3 shows.
- Prepare, present, and manage budgets, post-show budget reconciliation.
- Support development and inventory management of portable kit program, including portable kit utilization reporting.
- Plan the layout and liaise with vendors to determine their booth requirements.
- Booth concept and design in SketchUp.
- Maintain trade show and event checklists and work with all departments to meet deadlines from pre-production to post-production.
- Development and continuous update of the infrastructure weight and dimensions document.
- Coordinate the logistical requirements such as asset/infrastructure delivery and hiring of vendors.
- Work cross-functionally with the brand team to ensure the shows are within global and local brand standards.
- Deliver premium trade show execution at the industry’s most important trade events.
- Build out SketchUp library.
- On-site support when shows overlap.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Accredited High School Diploma or GED.
WORK HOURS:
- Full-Time
- Monday-Friday 09:00am-05:00pm HYB
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
