100% onsiteBASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Active Interim Security Clearance is required for this position. -MUST have a BS Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (No "EE Technology" Degrees please!). -Experience/insight with one or more of the following: Obsolescence Management, DMS, Parts Management, managing Bills of Material (BOMs), researching Alternate components. -Someone who worked in an Obsolescence Management / DMSMS / Component Engineering position where this was a key element of their primary responsibilities for 5 or more years.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The team is seeking an Electrical Component, Assembly, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Engineer (Senior Level) to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. The roles and responsibilities described below spans the entire production cycle of the program.
Electrical/Component and Assembly Responsibilities:
Applies engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical components in evaluation new components for assembly and subassembly design. Directly support Sub-contractors and Suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for Client usage per the contract and the Parts Management Plan. Use you understanding of Aircraft and Weapons design/requirements to recommend new and Alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs. Represent Client at Electrical and Electronic Component National Committees. Uses Project Management tools to meet cost, technical performance and schedule requirements. Incorporates Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas. Leads others, establishes work statement, defines strategies and/or provides consultation with peers while keeping management informed.
Electrical Obsolescence and DMSMS Responsibilities:
Conduct obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using Component Monitoring and Surveillance Tools, Predictive Obsolescence Systems, OEM/Supplier surveys, etc. Monitor Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alerts and provide obsolescence status report to the programs and government customers (Navy, Air Force, DoE, etc.). Develop obsolescence mitigation resolution options and business case analyses supporting the recommendations. Prepare presentation material to communicate DMSMS Case issues and proposed resolutions to customers and programs. Lead periodic DMS meetings with internal and external DoD and Industry Customers on Client STL programs. Apply understanding of Aircraft and Weapons design/requirements to recommend new and Alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs. Represent St. Louis site/programs at Client enterprise DMS meetings. Development of technical and cost proposals. Develop Counterfeiting Testing to define probability of electrical component being counterfeit. Review draft program Statements of Work and Contract Deliverables, recommending wording for Client tasks. Review and assist in the implementation of DoD Parts Management program requirements, ensuring the integrity and appropriate use of parts per application requirements. Maintain and implement improvements in software tools used to support DMSMS activities. Assist programs in identifying and managing obsolescence risks.
Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor). Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. (Note: NOT ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY.)WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMEmployment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
