Chipton-Ross is seeking 10 Fabrication Specialist D's for a contract opportunity in Kent/Algona/Auburn, WA area.
100% onsite in the Kent/Algona/Auburn, WA areaBASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
2+ years of experience welder.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs difficult organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements. Interprets high level requirements to develop methods and work sequences to meet objectives.
Day to day:
Perform manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), semi-automatic and automatic welding of various alloys on aircraft assemblies to fabricate, assemble, rework, repair production ducts and tubes, or modify experimental This requires quick adjustments during the welding process to compensate for variations in thickness, mismatch, gap, equipment anomalies, joint and or part configuration, etc. Select electrodes, gas cups, weld current, arc voltage, travel speed, gas flow, wire size, feed rate per the weld schedule or other furnished information, and accomplish seam tracking as required. Demonstrate welding proficiency and pass all certification tests on Titanium, Aluminum, Stainless and Inconel thin wall tubes in 6G positions as well as dissimilar thicknesses in the 2F positions. Plan sequence of welding operations to allow maximum accessibility to the last weld joint area on a complete assembly. Must be able to work from prints, plans, specifications, verbal or written information. Ability to interpret and apply American Welding Society (AWS) weld symbols per drawing or plan. Maintain certifications, licenses or permits as required to perform work assignment. Demonstrate the ability to continuously weld flight hardware using semiautomatic positioners. Perform self-inspection on welds using company specifications for required acceptance criteria. All production welds must pass visual inspections and according to class may require additional NDE methods i.e. metallographic, fluorescent penetrant, and or radiography. Be able to set up and operate manual welding in atmosphere free chambers, and have the ability to use inert gas shielding trailers. Inspect and request repairs when required to maintain welding equipment in safe and optimum operating condition. Communicate ideas related to continuous quality, process, or safety improvements to team members and management. Ability to adapt to different weld cell locations throughout the factory that utilize different alloys and welding hardware as needed.
Training: Training will be in Kent, hands on training with sample parts in a training environment. Training will last 30 days on average.
Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years' related work, Bachelor+2 years' related work, etc.).WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift 5:30 AM - 2:00 PMEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
