Chipton-Ross is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Melbourne, FL.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master of Science (MS) degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience. o Experience designing primary and secondary metallic aircraft parts/components, assemblies, and installations. o Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Looking for a structural engineer who analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowable and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications. Responsibilities for Engineer Structural 3:
o Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using metallic materials for modifications to existing aircraft. o Working within or leading an IPT, interfaces with IPT/Program leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to independently prepare and lead the preparation of engineering design solutions to challenging problems through the development of Product Definition Packages. o Collaborate with structural analysis, manufacturing, materials and processes, and other stakeholders to produce flight weight structures. o Employ GD&T and Model Based Engineering (MBE) methods to create airframe layouts and produce engineering definitions. o Assist team to develop/document best practices and mentor less experienced engineers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

o Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. o Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling or similar 3D modeling software. o Proficiency with Teamcenter. o Understanding of GD&T and MBE methods.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) is required. School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:

Full-Time 5/40 workweek. 1st shift. 100% on-site.
