Chipton-Ross is seeking a Lathe Machinist for a contract opportunity in Hawthorne, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 2–5+ years of CNC or manual lathe experience.
- Strong understanding of turning operations and precision measurement.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience with G-code programming or editing (FANUC control preferred). Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate CNC or manual turning centers. Interpret blueprints, route sheets, and technical drawings. Install and adjust turning tools, boring bars, groovers, drills, and workholding. Perform program edits and adjust offsets (FANUC experience preferred). Machine parts to precise tolerances and verify using micrometers, bore gages, indicators, thread wires, etc. Conduct operations such as OD/ID turning, facing, threading, grooving, knurling, and boring. Troubleshoot issues with tooling, finish, taper, or dimensional accuracy. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Record quality and production data.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Live tooling or Y-axis lathe experience. Swiss machining experience. Aerospace, defense, or high-precision machining background.

Full-TimeEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
