Chipton-Ross is seeking a Power Systems Modeling Design Engineer (Level 3) for a contract opportunity in Everett, WA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Specializes in power systems, power electronics, or automatic controls.
- Experience with modeling.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The successful candidate will work with Electrical Power Systems engineering and adjacent groups to establish program, system and sub-system support of Electrical Sub-Systems team in areas of Aircraft Power System Modeling and Simulation. The person will be responsible for assisting team members with modeling and simulation of the aircraft power system, active and passive power conversion equipment, motor controllers, electric motors and generators, power distribution and protection equipment. The person will perform all necessary simulation work to assess system power quality, characterize failure modes of the equipment and the power system, and to design and validate system protections. The person will also be responsible for assisting team members with technical requirements development. He or she will extensively work to develop and document complex electric power system requirements and will validate them through simulation and test. Previous electrical equipment systems design experience required; in-depth knowledge of electric power systems, modeling and simulation tools, model-based design and model-based system engineering techniques and hands-on experience with tools is necessary.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification). ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
