Chipton-Ross is seeking a Project Engineer for a contract opportunity in Camden, AR.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Knowledgeable of all design and manufacturing aspects of their assigned program.
- Technically capable of assessing any and all non-conformances to determine an immediate action (UAI, Rework, Scrap…) in order to keep production moving.
- Provides Real-time process optimization, Yield improvement support - minimize waste and optimize resource utilization. [TDP Integration, DFMEA / PFMEA
- Risk management / updates, KC updates / classification, MRL Improvements supporting AOP].
- Engineering Responsible Authority on root cause and effective corrective actions (RCCA), closely partnered with the Quality organization in determining root cause and effective corrective actions for stated NCs.
- Manages required engineering analysis support to inform "Design Engineering" dispositions.
- Knowledgeable of and able to speak to/represent the Material Review Board processes.
- Understands pertinent codes, rules, and regulations related to areas of engineering assignments
- Use engineering test equipment, CAD, and computer applications with various office and engineering software applications Understands and adheres to Systems Engineering principles in Requirements and Risk & Opportunity management.
- Familiar with standard engineering tools and practices.
- Understands theories, principles and practices of engineering and project management methods.
- Understands rocket propulsion component(s) and theory of operation.
- Understands safety regulations, principles and practices of work safety.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate(s) will support one or more of the eight programs listed below. The Sr. Specialist Responsible Engineering Authority Project Engineer role requires a highly experienced engineer who will represent the engineering COE with respect to assessing and resolving production- program product non-conformances. This individual will have total knowledge of all design and performance aspects of their assigned program to the extent that this knowledge will allow them to make accurate dispositions of non-conforming hardware. Their activity will be working with a cross-functional team involving the assigned Chief, Project, Design, Quality, Manufacturing Engineers, and Product Manager. This position will report to one of the following programs: PAC-3, Mk 72, Mk 104, ATACMS, GMLRS, Javelin, MIR, Stinger, and GEM-T. Essential Functions:
Under general direction, the Sr. Specialist Project Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices:
40% - Real time WIP NC prioritization - repair, scrap evaluation / functional coordination. 40% - Real time process optimization, Yield improvement support - minimize waste and optimize resource utilization. [TDP Integration, DFMEA / PFMEA Risk management / updates, KC updates / classification, MRL Improvements supporting AOP]. 10% - Factory specific technical inputs enabling Root Cause and Corrective Action and Sector Systemic Learning. 10% - Assist in designing & testing new equipment, processes, procedures and systems.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Proficient in CAD, GD&T, Analysis or Materials.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to quickly assess complex problems, make decisions, and drive closure.
- Previous experience working root cause and non-conformances.
- Previous experience in project, materials, process, manufacturing, and/or integration/test engineering.
- Previous experience designing & testing new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems.
- Six-Sigma Certification.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Project Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of Project Engineering related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior Project Engineering experience.
WORK HOURS:
- Full-Time-9/80
ADDITIONAL:
- Candidate must either already have a secret clearance or be able to obtain a clearance if needed.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
