Chipton-Ross is seeking 7 Mechanical Technicians for a contract opportunity in Kennedy Space Center, FL.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The ideal candidate has experience in mechanical (tube installations), structural drilling and assembly.
- Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components
- Assembles pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems
- Measures tolerances using micrometer, calipers, and gauges
- Works with torque specifications and mechanical clearances
- Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working on a NASA Program
- Experience in a clean room environment
- Manufacturing experience in human spaceflight, spaceflight, or aircraft hardware
- Experience in installation and handling of tubes, valves, fittings.
- Experience in Structural assembly with an emphasis on match drilling aluminum, titanium, and composite materials
- Experience with tubing and ducting installation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be comfortable standing, bending down and crawling into confined spaces, must be able to lift 10+ lbs.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK HOURS FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; Must be able to work all shifts. Training will be 1st shift.ADDITIONAL:

This work assignment has been designated as "safety sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory preplacement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
