Chipton-Ross is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Ridley Park, PA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 3+ years of work-related experience performing structural fatigue or fracture analysis.
  • 3+ years of work-related experience in fatigue or damage tolerance analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience understanding and writing engineering reports based on analysis results, test findings or maintenance reports and present results.
  • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead development of multiple test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify recommendations for structural components to meet requirements and specifications.
  • Provide high quality decisions based on analysis of test data as it applies to aircraft structural integrity.
  • Define and document aircraft structures certification and test results to ensure customer and regulatory agency requirements are satisfied in support of new manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and perform durability and damage tolerance evaluations of aircraft structures, including strain-life and crack-growth assessments, to establish service life and inspection intervals for structural components.
  • Develop, execute, and interpret fatigue and fracture mechanics analyses (including spectrum loading, FEA inputs, and crack-growth modeling) to support structural substantiation, repair criteria, and maintenance instructions.
  • Work under minimal direction while also leading a team of engineers.
  • Work closely with technical experts to standardize Enterprise test efforts.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment and fulfillment of fatigue requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors OR 7+ years work-related experience with a Masters OR 4+ years of work-related experience with a PhD.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Knowledge of fixed wing military aircraft platforms.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and its requirements.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck and Lifeworks
  • Experience with Spectrum Generation.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study inengineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
