Chipton-Ross is seeking a Electrical Design & Integration Engineer (Level 3) for a contract opportunity in Long Beach, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Solves problems concerning, and provides other support of, fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Works with customers and suppliers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
- Document processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacturing of electrical commodities
- Review supplier technical data to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements and regulations
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to airlines and modification sites
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers in an agile environment, utilizing the latest tools and methodologies to deliver innovative solutions
- Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures (e.g. DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, and D6 requirements), including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Equipment Manager responsibilities for Line Replaceable Units.
- Familiarity with FAA and EASA certification regulations and requirements
- Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance
- Analytical Skills (Technical)
- Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
- Engineering Drawings & Specs
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
- Computer Aided Design Tools
- Knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics)
- Engineering Judgment
- Exercises engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity. Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and involves others in obtaining information for the engineering decision-making process
- Systems Thinking

- Certification & Qualification

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMEmployment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
