Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Composite Production Tool Builder 2's for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o High School diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relatable composite fabrication or bonding experience in manufacturing/production environment. o Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment. o Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends. o Must successfully complete and pass the "ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance" within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Read and interpret blueprints. o Lay out articles, cuts parts or materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents. o Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes. o Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding cycle. o Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used. o Sand, burs and smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges. o Monitor and verify quality of finished product. o Complete repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions. Verifies quality of finished product.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, and carrying tools.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
o Experience with high temperature composite materials including BMI and Polyimide. o Experience with structural subassemblies, including bonding, co-bonding, core bonding and bagging.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma. School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. Must be available for any shift.Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
