Chipton-Ross is seeking a Design & Analysis Engineer (Level 5) for a contract opportunity in Albuquerque, NM.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 9+ years of experience with the design, development, and integration of complex electronic systems or subsystems
  • 5+ years of experience researching, developing, or evaluating electrical, electronic, computer, software and/or firmware requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with analog and/or digital circuit design, packaging techniques, and/or power systems
  • 3+ years of experience developing subsystem requirements
  • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The primary responsibility of this individual will be working with a multi-disciplined engineering team to decompose system level requirements to electronic subsystems/components. This position will serve as our lead Electronics Engineer for a team tasked with requirements definition, and design/development/test of new electronic hardware solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic design (analog and digital); high speed, low latency systems; firmware development, requirements tracking/verification; assembly and test of subsystems; integration of subsystems into the final system; and a passion for finding solutions to solve interesting problems. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
  • Derive and document hardware requirements from system-level specifications.
  • Experience with developing and defining electronic subsystems and unit-level architecture.
  • Ability to write SSOWs for board fabrication or other related contractual work.
  • Applies technical expertise when deriving and writing electronics related requirements (voltage, current, power, and signal integrity)
  • Design, develop, and test mixed-signal electronic circuits and systems.
  • Lead the design and implementation of PCB layouts and schematics.
  • Collaborate with software and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Participate and Conduct design reviews (i.e. TRR, PDR, and CDR’s).
  • Perform simulations and analyses to validate design performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during development and testing phases.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance for designs made by EE team
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient in Mentor Graphics (Xpedition, Capital Suite...)
  • Proficient SiMetrix (Simulation tool for circuit analysis)
  • Electro-Optical and IR sensors, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
  • Experience with high speed, low latency electronic design.
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor's degree with 14 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    TRAVEL:

    Possible domestic, nothing planned at this time but could come up.

    WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
