Chipton-Ross is seeking a Materials Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Dulles, VA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering. Bachelor's degree in Physics with some background in materials is acceptable. o Knowledge and experience with lab equipment, such as, scanning electron microscope, optical microscope, spectroscopy, x-ray equipment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Looking for a Materials Engineer to support the Reliability Analysis Lab (RAL) in Dulles, Virginia. Responsibilities:
o Perform failure analysis of materials/hardware to determine the root cause of failure and identify failure modes. o Perform materials analysis and characterization. o Perform weld joint analysis. o Perform materials testing per industry standard specifications and internal requirements. o Perform inspection of printed wiring board for defects and anomalies. o Use analytical tools and equipment to inspect and analyze parts, materials, and flight hardware.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

o Familiarity with materials, such as, aluminum, titanium, steel. o Familiarity with processes, such as, rolling, forging, heat treatment, welding, corrosion. o Familiarity with industry standard documents, e.g., ASTM, ASM, NASA, MIL.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree is required. School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:

Full-Time 9/80 work week. 1st shift.



Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
