Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Structures Mechanic 3's for a contract opportunity in Saint Augustine, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Ability to understand and interpret blueprints o Ability to comprehend engineering requirements and put them into practice o Independently perform complex, depot-level structural repairs and modifications. o Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify parts. o Work with various materials, including aluminum and composites. o May mentor lower-level technicians.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Structures Mechanic to perform a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Aligns parts on jigs using templates and fixtures. Performs such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Responsibilities for Structures Mechanic:
o Structures mechanic with sheetmetal experience o Assemble, install, and modify parts such as ribs, spars, skins, bulkheads, and fuselages using precision drilling, riveting, and alignment tools. o Apply expert knowledge of bonding practices, specialized materials (titanium, aluminum, composites), and structural repair manuals. o Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical orders to fabricate structural assemblies. o Provide guidance and expertise to lower-level technicians, often troubleshooting complex malfunctions. o Maintain high-quality standards in compliance with safety procedures, including proper PPE usage and adherence to manufacturing shop controls. o Work in confined, elevated, or awkward spaces and handle hazardous materials.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
o Extensive experience with composites, structural repair, and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers). o Ability to work as a lead technician, guiding lower-level employees, and working independently. o Must perform strenuous work, including lifting 25-50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and working at heights.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required. School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:
Candidates must be available to work any shift. 1st shift 6am-4:30pm, 2nd shift 4:30pm-3am.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
