Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 3-4 years of experience
  • Blue print reading.
  • Able to use a variety of hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of aircraft hardware and materials and processes
  • . Ability to identify, install and remove common aircraft fasteners.
  • Able to use a variety of precision measuring tools and gages.
  • Must be capable of using air operated drill motors, rivet gun and rivet sets, bucking bars, cleco pliers, countersink stops, standard hand tools, hand and foot pneumatic air squeeze, pneumatic cutter disc, as well as electric and manual rollers.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Layout, drill and trim aircraft sheet metal parts and assemblies for both new and repaired aircraft.
  • Locate and rivet component parts into assemblies of various sizes and complexity.
  • Properly record the work performed on the appropriate record.
  • Ensure thorough familiarity with all tools and equipment, including inspection and work aids used within the area of responsibility.

  • Properly execute the duties assigned.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Accredited HSD/GED

    WORK HOURS:

  • Full-Time
  • 1st Shift
  • 6:30AM-3PM PST

    This work assignment has been designated as "safety-sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety-sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory pre-placement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety-sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.


    Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
