Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking TIG Welder for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in pre-heating and post-heating of weld elements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.
  • Drawing review for compliance for final dimensions, weld note callouts, base material, and filler material selection.
  • Basic mathematic skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geomemtry and algebra for calculating material fabrication.

    • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • TIG welding of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings by means of TIG welding in all positions including the use of rotary turntables for welding.
  • Set up machines according to work instructions to trim, size, form, inspect, and GTAW (TIG) weld materials to meet drawing requirements.
  • Inspection of welds for accuracy, inspection of root side weld defects, visual weld inspection using fillet weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and final weld fixtures. Weld inspection for weld size, face, and root reinforcement, cracks, inclu­sions, and porosity.



    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Accredited HSD/GED

    WORK HOURS:

  • Full-Time



  • This work assignment has been designated as "safety-sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety-sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory pre-placement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety-sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.


    Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
