Chipton-Ross is seeking a QA NDT Inspector for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Have current ASNT NDT Level III certificate in
- Magnetic Particle and Fluorescent Liquid
- Penetrant inspection methods.
- Blueprint reading.
- Communication (reading, writing & speaking English)
- Thoroughness/attention to detail on the given task.
- Time management.
- Ability to match/detect color differences including shades and brightness.
- Capable of determining if an individual is using the correct procedure and recognize the use of
improper methods or techniques.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect parts, products, and raw materials for defects and deviations from engineering drawings and
specifications.- Use of equipment and materials associated with non-destructive testing (Mag Machine, Penetrant
solutions and inspection black lights)- Evaluate inspection results for compliance to specification requirements and document
discrepancies.- Create and maintain forms and test records required for performance of inspections and
management of department.- Conduct training and examination of level I and II NDT personnel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Accredited HSD/GED
WORK HOURS:
- Full-Time
- 1st Shift
- overtime including weekend overtime may be required depending on business needs
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
