Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Marietta, GA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

Must be available to support Swing Shift: M-Th 4pm-2:30am.

Actively contributes to the development of new concepts. Possesses full knowledge of industry and company practices, demonstrating expertise in the field and related disciplines. COMPLEXITY - Develops innovative solutions to a range of complex problems that are consistent with organizational objectives. Works without direction. Work is reviewed upon completion and is consistent with departmental objectives. IMPACT - Guides major projects to completion and may function in leadership role. Decisions are long-lasting and heavily influences the organization. Engages with senior personnel on significant matters.

  • 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high tech hardware.
  • Influencing decisions without formal authority (technical lead on design reviews, process improvement initiatives).
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering V Model, requirements flow down, and verification & validation (V&V) processes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferable: Master’s degree or coursework in Model Based Engineering (MBE) or Systems Engineering.

WORK HOURS

Swing Shift: M-Th 4pm-2:30am.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
