Electronic Technician 3

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electronic Technician 3 for a contract opportunity in San Diego, CA.

• 4 years of related experience or electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school or military technical school.
• Experience fabricating wire harnesses or circuit card assemblies.
• Able to read drawings / wiring diagrams, previous government experience, experience with ESD (electrostatic discharge) and FOD (foreign object damage) control. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering specs, drawings, diagrams and blueprints.

Looking for an Electronic Technician 3 to support our Avionics Development Center. As a member of the Avionics Development Center, you'll get to support critical fabrication and testing efforts in both a production and development environment.

Responsibilities:

Under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electronic systems, components, and equipment. Diagnose and repair circuit boards, wiring, and other electronic components. Maintain compliance with all NGC CAT 2 Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) safety, quality, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) standards.

• Current or previously held certifications for wire harness fabrication (IPC-WHMA-A-620) or soldering and circuit card assembly/rework (IPC J-STD-001 / IPC-7711/7721).
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications, production diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications (English).
• Able to read drawings / wiring diagrams.
• Cable Assembly.

• Micro-Soldering.
• Solder Certified.
• Circuit Card Assemblies.
• Current certification to IPC WHMA-A-620, NASA-J-STD; or other certifications in electronics assembly and workmanship.
• Must be capable of successfully completing certification to IPC WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assembly) and NASA-J-STD.

Associates Degree or technical trade school or military technical school is required.

School must be accredited.

4/10 workweek. This position will serve on-site at our facility in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
