Job Description

Job #219994

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Inventory Coordinator for a contract opportunity in Buena Park, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

Two or more years of inventory control, materials handling, warehouse, receiving, production control, or related manufacturing experience.

Experience keeping a production or assembly floor supplied - kitting, staging, and replenishing material to a production schedule.

Working knowledge of inventory transactions, cycle counting, material movement, work orders, locations, and discrepancy research.

Experience using an ERP, MRP, warehouse management, or inventory control system to perform receiving and inventory transactions.

Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper records.

Ability to read part numbers, quantities, units of measure, work-order information, revisions, labels, and related manufacturing documentation.

Strong attention to detail, organization, accountability, urgency, and follow-through.

Ability to communicate material issues clearly and work effectively with Receiving, Planning, Production, Assembly, Quality, Purchasing, and Shipping.

Ability to work onsite and spend substantial time in warehouse, receiving, inspection, and manufacturing areas.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Keep the production and assembly floor supplied: pull, kit, and stage material to the production and build schedule so work centers and assembly stations have what they need, when they need it.

Replenish line-side and point-of-use material for assembly and production, monitoring bin and staging levels and refilling ahead of need to prevent line stoppages.

Kit components for assembly builds and work orders - gathering, verifying, and staging complete sets of parts against the schedule, and flagging shortages before they reach the floor.

Receive incoming material into inventory: verify quantities, part numbers, revisions, condition, and certifications against receiving and purchase-order documentation, and place material into the correct locations and status.

Perform inventory transactions in the ERP - issues, transfers, returns, receipts, and adjustments - maintaining accurate quantities, locations, units of measure, status, and lot or heat information.

Perform scheduled and directed cycle counts of raw material, components, work in process, outside processed parts, consumables, and finished goods.

Research inventory discrepancies by reviewing transactions, work orders, receiving records, material movement, scrap, and physical locations; document findings and coordinate corrections.

Issue, transfer, return, and reconcile material to work orders while maintaining required identification, segregation, and traceability.

Verify part numbers, revisions, quantities, condition, certifications, and inventory status before material is moved, issued, staged, or made available for production.

Monitor inventory shortages and questionable balances; notify Planning, Purchasing, Production, or Quality promptly when a shortage may affect the build schedule or customer delivery.

Coordinate the controlled movement of material between Receiving, Inspection, warehouse locations, production and assembly work centers, outside processing, and Shipping.

Maintain clearly identified, organized inventory and staging locations so materials are stored to prevent damage, deterioration, loss, or improper use.

Support controls for nonconforming, rejected, obsolete, expired, customer-owned, and otherwise restricted material in coordination with Quality and responsible departments.

Assist with physical inventories, inventory audits, work-in-process reconciliation, aging reviews, and excess and obsolete inventory projects.

Use material-handling equipment when trained and authorized, and follow all safety, lifting, storage, and traffic requirements.

Maintain inventory records and perform all transactions in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, the quality management system, and applicable export-control requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned.
