Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineering Technician 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.
As a member of the Manufacturing Technology Development team, the selected candidate will provide technical support and shop level execution to engineers on a variety of technical tasks including but not limited to research and development, rapid prototyping, and production. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Responsibilities include planning and executing layout for such activities as machining, composites fabrication, assembly, and materials handling. Adapts processes and equipment for development and/or production conditions. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of processes and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma/ GED with 4 years' experience in Manufacturing and/or Engineering.
Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Must have prior composites experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lamination (layup) prepreg/wet, vacuum bagging, trimming, drilling (riveting, fastening, etc), bonding, and assembly.

EDUCATION:
High School diploma/ GED is required.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
