- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Mechanic General located in Jacksonville, FL.
Aircraft Mechanic II – Egress. This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as: blueprints or manufactures’ manuals. The mechanic will be required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
**Must be familiar with military style phase inspections**
**Types of maintenance and Levels of maintenance for fighter aircraft**
** Must be able to work well in a team style operational concept for safe handling of explosives**
**Must be Willing to work in a flexible, Low Volume, High Demand environment, constant integrated change to support flight schedule and sustain modification work**
**Must be familiar with Military Forms, Logs and Records Processes, AFTO 391, AFTO 392, 781K, 781A**
Education and/or Training Requirements:
Mechanic must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Must be able to Jack, Tow, and Operate various types of support at required to meet program needs. Mechanic may be required to become ordinance certified for Aviation Life Support Systems Maintenance was required.
** Must have Formal Military Training on the ACES II Ejection System**
**Must have experience with Removal and Installation of Ejection Seat, Canopy, Parachute, Survival Kit, CRU-60/94**
Position requires 4+ years of experience in those duties as previously on the F-16 Platform. Recent F-16 or other fighter aircraft experience preferred. Must have formal ACES II Military education or equivalent. Must have 4+ Years of Experience working to Military Tech Data in the execution of ACES II system maintenance.
Occupation or Operation Requirement:
Perform moderately complex work where specific or general operation methods are available. Judgment to make some intermediate level decisions, Responsible for the proper performance of assignments and the prudent handling of product, tools and equipment. Will be required to work with the guidance of more senior skilled employees and assist less senior employees. Perform all duties of lower General classifications as required to successfully accomplish assignments. May work in different areas or departments as deemed necessary by leads or management to meet program delivery requirements.
**Explosives Physical will be required**
**Crane Certification will be required**
**Flight Line Driver’s License will be required**
Accredited High School Diploma/GED
This position is hiring for both 1st and 2nd shift. The applicant must be able to work either shift to meet business requirements.
