Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineering Project Manager for an opening in Plainsboro, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing project engineering and management services in the development and execution of capital projects from $250 KCHF of up to $2MM CHF. Support projects originating within any one of our regional facilities in the Americas (NA/LATAM)
" Directly manage the internal lead disciplines, purchasing, construction and OEF's project manager in all phases of the capital project.
" Responsible for the development of capital project estimates, preparation, and submission of project summaries for approval.
" Responsible for conducting all relevant project reviews with participation of key project team members; design, operability & maintainability, process hazards analysis, constructability.
" Participate in preparation of Pre-Conceptual, Basic & Detailed Engineering design packages of capital projects.
" With the assistance of technical purchasing, qualify outside engineering firms, develop RFP's, evaluate bid proposals and recommend selection of engineering & construction firms.
" Perform the basic engineering studies including appropriate safety and quality reviews in order to prepare the project's investment files within +/- 10% accuracy prior to approval.
" Prepare comprehensive project procedure manual including master & detailed schedules showing key milestones and critical path.
" Manage the overall project capital goods purchasing effort, specifically the issuing of purchase orders to selected equipment and instrumentation vendors through technical purchasing.
" Monitor, control and report on performance against project quality, budget and schedule original plan.
" Approve equipment vendors, OEF, and construction contractors invoices for payment.
" Evaluate and render recommendations on change order requests initiated by engineering, fabrication and construction contractors.
" Prepare and obtain management approvals for all basis of design change requests.
" Arrange for FAT inspections of appropriate purchased equipment and instruments prior to delivery.
" Facilitate the Pre-Startup Safety Review and ensure necessary action items are completed in a timely manner.
" Perform project commissioning phase and IQ/OQ stages of the project.
" Prepare closeout reports and financially close the project in collaboration with Finance.
" Issue monthly project status reports following Global Engineering Guidelines.
" Maintain current knowledge of the latest approaches and techniques for effective project management. Participate in creating/reviewing engineering standards.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
" Approximately 5 years of experience with demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in executing engineering capital projects, preferably in a chemical, and/or ingredients manufacturing environment
" Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing practices
" Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Excel, and CMMS systems.
" Must be proficient with MS Office Suite software and MS Project software.
" Knowledge in AutoCAD and/or MS Visio is a plus
Ability to read, interpret and understand technical procedures, PFDs, P&ID's and technical procedures.
Ability to read and understand governmental regulations and company policy and procedures.
Ability to understand and write business correspondence, utilize project management related documents and procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, customers, vendors and the general workforce.
Knowledge of other languages is a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, French, etc.)
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Project Management Methodology training preferred
