Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor for an contract to hire opportunity in Gardena, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for clearing all conditions needed to close a mortgage loan request. The Mortgage Loan Processor will communicate to borrowers all required conditions, and will follow up to ensure receipt of such conditions in a timely and accurate manner with accordance to lending policies and guidelines. The Mortgage Loan Processor will also work closely with title, escrow, appraisal companies, insurance companies, HOA companies, and all other involved parties to obtain and clear conditions.
o Ensure the timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by our loan officers
o Monitor and manage daily processing requests.
o Open title and escrow.
o Order payoffs.
o Follow up with borrowers on underwriting conditions and ensure delivery and clearance of conditions to underwriting in a timely manner.
o Consistently update and send out loan estimates and closing disclosures.
o Order appraisals, flood certs, 4506, compliance reports (Mavent, fraud risk, etc…).
o Work with closing attorneys, title/escrow officers, real estate agents, and other involved professionals within the loan transaction.
o Perform verbal (or written) verification of employment.
o Order and review estimated HUD?1's for all loans.
o Coordinate closing process and obtain necessary title/escrow conditions.
o Follow?up on appraisal orders and retrieve appraisal reports as needed.
o Review and audit appraisal reports and address any proprietary findings.
o Submit pre-closing packages to internal compliance department for loan review audits and QC clearance.
o Obtain approval to close from underwriting.
o Submit final approval to close files to closer/funder.
o Meet all established deadlines as requested.
o Stay current with all assigned training.
o Supports management in attaining Credit Union goals and objectives.
o Participates in training as assigned.
o Participates in Department and organization meetings as directed.
o Provides support and cross training in various areas as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum of three years' experience as a Mortgage Loan Processor.
Strong knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel software.
Proficiency with Desktop Underwriting (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP).
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with loan origination systems.
Strong knowledge of conventional, non-conforming, and FHA guidelines.
Strong member service, time management skills.
Must communicate and work well in a team environment.
Demonstrate willingness to learn new systems and adapt to new procedures.
Knowledge of common real estate lending compliance requirements.
Ability to multitask and maintain an organized workflow.
Demonstrate outstanding level of member services skills.
Must work well independently and be self-motivated.
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening, presentation).

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9:30AM to 6PM

**Position is estimated at 2 months and possible temp to hire.**


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
