- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler I for an opportunity in Grand Prairie, TX.
Supports activities with respect to successfully arranging for delivery, assembly and distribution of parts in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules, including strong interface with Planners, Buyers, Quality, Production Manager and Manufacturing personnel; Create job packets with necessary documents for Production, Machine and Paint shop; Collects, tracks and verifies data and information from multiple sources. Use of software to compile, update and review department reports, timelines and presentationsl; May design processes and tools to enhance work flow and traceability of products and supplier deliverables; Provides data and information to others on functional unit processes and procedures.
1.0 SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of requesting a Short-Term Scrap Processor / Material Handler will be to collect, organize and dispose of Safran Helicopter Engine non-conforming material from engines, modules and accessories both physically and electronically
2.0 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive non-conforming material from shop areas for scrap processing
Label and organize non-conforming parts and containers for storage
Enter and maintain nonconforming part information into an SAP ERP system
Perform a significant amount of SAP transactions to ensure non-conforming parts are ineligible for future induction into the repair process
Support the SafranHE USA Scrap Processor in all aspects of her duties as assigned including, material handling, packaging, processing, tagging and transportation
3.0 SCOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The position will be accountable to follow the direction of the current Scrap Processor and the Quality Assurance Manager.
4.0 REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
(Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities)
This position requires an understanding of SAP, Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with material processing and exposure to an aviation environment is preferred.
This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external departments in both oral and written form.
This position requires a positive attitude and high attention to detail.
5.0 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit.
During the performance of this job, the employee must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb and balance as necessary to complete work assignments.
The employee is frequently required to use his or her hands and fingers to handle items, lift items, and reach for items with his or her hands and arms on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
o Must have working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
o Preferred two years working in similar role in manufacturing environment
? Entry-level job with little or no prior relevant experience ? Work is prescribed and completed with close supervision and little autonomy ? Duties are clearly defined and methods and tasks are described in detail
Accredited High School Diploma/GED
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
