Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 for an opportunity in Newport News, VA.
Professional services required to support PLM Team Center and NX agile team backlogs for new development, enhancements, and production issues. Support may include requirements analysis, specification development, system design and testing, and other System Development Life Cycle process by utilizing the agile methodology.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
The candidate must have PLM Team Center and NX experience. Without this knowledge, it would be very difficult for the person to add value to the tight schedule deadlines. NX Senior Systems Developer Level (1 resource) - Requires software engineering skills: C++ software development and Visual Basic with a strong NX/Open software development background. May also have experience with Java, FORTRAN, C#, Perl, XML, and/or Unix scripting. Familiarity with both UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms and development environments. Able to demonstrate in the past leadership roles. Candidates should be willing and able to communicate and coordinate with the extended Newport News Shipbuilding PLM Software teams as required by their projects. This includes Huntington Ingalls Industries colleagues from other parts of the company. Excellent communication skills and able to articulate highly technical issues in more simplistic terms so other less technical can understand. NX experience 8 to 10 years is required.
NX Senior Systems Engineer Level (2 resources) - Requires software engineering skills to include analysis and hands-on experience in using Siemens NX. A high-level competency in working various phases of the system development lifecycle as well as experience in developing Use Case based requirements is needed. Also, the resource should possess the ability to deal in both the business and the technical aspects of the problem domain. Critical thinking and analytical skills is a must as well as the ability to present ideas and findings at the executive-level. NX experience 8 to 10 years is required.
Bachelors in Science, Masters, or PhD is required.
School must be accredited.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
