Chipton-Ross is seeking a Records Retention Clerk for an opening in Gainesville, TX.
The Records Retention Clerk scans court documents in accordance to established rules and procedures; ensuring easy access to quality images for years to come. In addition, the Records Retention Clerk assists customers with requests for court records involving archived files, maintains the filing and storage system in the Archives Office, and provides backup as a Records Clerk when needed.
Organizes and prepares documents for scanning by removing staples, paper clips, sticky notes, etc.; ensures documents are in proper condition to be scanned. Uses scanning software and scanner to scan documents in accordance to established rules and procedures. Inspects the images for accuracy, completeness, clarity, and/or defects. Updates existing microfilm with current documents using scanner. Provides customer service to those requesting information/documents involving archived files in accordance to established rules of disclosure. Maintains the filing and storage system by rotating files when necessary, and keeping the shelves clean and orderly; files cases and documents into their proper locations. Removes and destroys records in accordance to established rules and policies. Maintains strict confidentiality. Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures, and safety practices.

Accredited Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
