- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an opening in Syracuse, NY.
Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive. layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Lead team to improve product flow throughout the Syracuse factory using lean principles. Expectation is to reduce build times as a result of these improvements and make them sustainable. Strive for continuous improvement after initial implementation. Use metrics to effectively measure initial flow improvements as well as sustained success by monitoring on an on-going basis. This role will be in support of radar and sonar sensor products.
This is a Continuous Improvement Engineer Position and the candidate must have that ability. MUST HAVE BLACK BELT CERTIFICATION OR THE RESUME WILL BE REJECTED. 8 years of work experience as a Manufacture Engineer. Work history experience in the following several skills. Expert level in Product Flow experience. Experience with Lean Transformations. Manufacturing and/or process engineering experience in a production environment. Ability to instruct others in Flow and Lean principles. Mechanical or Industrial engineering background. Proficient in creating and delivering engaging presentations to all levels of the business.
Continuous improvement mindset. Ability to facilitate continuous improvement events. Experience leading a team. FlexSim or comparable process modeling software. Material flow experience. Production layout design experience. Strong problem solving skills. Advanced PPT and XLS skills. Excellent communication skills. Root cause analysis. 6S experience. SAP and/or Solumina experience. Ability to generate clear, concise work instructions and troubleshoot assembly issues. Tool design, prototyping, and implementation. Engineering background sufficient to develop and design unique tools, jigs, and fixtures in production environment. 3D solid modeling. Solidworks and/or Creo/Windchill/EPDM experience. 3D printing/Additive Manufacturing experience.
Accredited Bachelors degree
