Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Warehouse - Shipping and Crate Builder for an opening in Minneapolis, MN.

RESPONSIBILITES:

The basic function of the position is to manage the secure shipment of all machinery, machinery componentry, and individual parts. It encompasses evaluating, scheduling, and crating/packaging as needed. Arranging and ensuring secure and timely transportation.

Role Responsibilities and Priorities:
Evaluate all upcoming shipping and crating requirements for all machines, machinery componentry and large or specially designated parts. Prepare all shipments for transportation, addressing all aspects, including: draining, plugging, and rust prevention. Follow crating procedures/steps to ensure safe and secure arrival of product as designated destination. Includes steps such as building crates, wrapping items, labeling or marking packages. Ensure all parts of assembly list are secured/attached/contained within the skid. Confirm on a continuous basis that all machinery, componentry, and parts are securely lagged down and attached to skids. Maintain crating, shipping, and transportation documentation in organized manner. Maintain, monitor, and arrange for ordering of all supplies necessary for packaging and shipping machines, componentry and parts. Communicate the tracking information and status of the shipments to the correct project manager to relay to the customer. Pick, pack and ship using FedEx, UPS and DHL terminals. Maintain crating, shipping, and transportation documentation, including photographs of the final package and loading of the freight, as specified by department/function practice and procedures. Provide backup in the stockroom, material handling and shipping and receiving. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Dominant Physical Requirements and Essential Job Functions:
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. The incumbent must be able to effectively utilize a variety of hand and power tools, computer peripherals, climb ladders and lift up to 40 lb. This position requires a high degree of mobility to move and stage machines and machine parts. The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the organization. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Must have forklift certification. Ability to read and write effectively. Ability to efficiently and effectively utilize packaging materials. Must have competent interpersonal communication skills to communicate with others at all levels in all departments. Ability to solve problems with, at all times, minimal readily available information. Ability to ensure all machinery, components and parts are secured for shipment, as required. Ability to organize and maintain records, supplies, and documentation of all shipments. Ability to analyze situations and make decisions accordingly.

Accredited High School Diploma/GED

WORK HOURS:

Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
