Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Buyer for an opening in Madison, WI.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, department SOP’s & work instructions. Reports to and takes direction from Order Fulfilment Manager regarding daily duties. Independently makes decisions and utilizes available resources to meet procurement requirements. Analyzes/ maintains/ reconciles various purchasing / backlog reports to ensure customer and Thermo Fisher requirements are met. Communicates with manager any vendor issues or potential problems, and also communicates to other functional teams regarding potential problems that may affect customer required dates. Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and enhancements without the presence of site trainer and management team. Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team. Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies Utilizes systems as required by job function. Performs other duties as assigned by management

Sourcing
Review and execute daily MRP report for the timely creation of PO’s and Stock Transfer Orders to support sales order delivery dates, including: Reviewing PO’s / STO’s to ensure accuracy, correct vendor selection, and matching purchase requisition. Issuing POs / STO’s to vendors and internal factories. Following-up on purchase order issues / on time vendor performance. Managing approval chains as required. Review orders through SAP open PO reports. Sourcing materials / quotes from different vendors. Processing orders via SAP PR1. Monitor receipt of order confirmations from all suppliers: SLA 48 hours. Enter order confirmations into the PO for external vendors / factories not on SAP, so everyone has visibility to order status. Work closely financial team in resolving Purchase Price Variances.

Inventory Management:
Execute product life cycle tasks per the ECO process to ensure reduction in Excess / Obsolete inventory. Auditing of materials to ensure correct Purchasing Info Record, Source List and Material Master Data.

REQUIREMENTS:
2-3 years of progressive relevant purchasing experience required. Must be able to work overtime as required. Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills. Must maintain our clients’ Four-I Values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement. Proven excellence in customer service skills. Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment. Possess a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to deal with various functional teams within our clients facility. Strong communication and vendor management skills to deliver excellent customer service including maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Effective analytical skills to reconcile various reports to ensure customer requirements are met. Solid organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed. Must be able to use a computer and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

SAP R3 experience preferred.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Material Management preferred, or 2-3 years hands on experience in purchasing / supply chain settings.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
