Chipton-Ross is seeking a Engineering Laboratory Technicianfor an opening in Mesa, AZ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is an Engineering Laboratory Technician position. This position will support engineering investigation of production issues, material qualifications, process development, and receiving inspection / shelf life testing of composite materials. This is a hands on position that will require manual dexterity and the ability to stand for several hours.
Evaluate parts, materials, processes, technology, or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to requirements and specifications. Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Determine root cause and document results and recommendations. Support continuous improvement of products and processes by fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new concepts and technology. Provide knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers.

Skill and ability to: collect, organize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing capabilities associated with composite and polymer systems. (e.g., design definition, industrial specifications, engineering drawings, and supplier data). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change).
Knowledge and understanding of composite and polymer laboratory protocols and procedures.
Knowledge of materials and processing for polymers and composites (e.g. molding, forming, lay-up, co-curing, co-bonding, infusion, repair, surface preparation).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience with the following:
• Environment: Aerospace Engineering laboratory or Aerospace R&D Laboratory
• Knowledge of polymers and composite materials (such as carbon, fiberglass, aramid, adhesives, thermoset/thermoplastic resins).
• Fabrication: Lay-up, Environmental Conditioning, Machining,
• Equipment: Scales, Furnaces, Ovens, Autoclave, Heated Platen Presses
• Collect, organize, synthesize, and summarize test results
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION:
Accredited education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM

MISCELLANEOUS:
This position will be on a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
