Chipton-Ross is seeking a Computer Systems Administrator for an opportunity in Raleigh, NC.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Computer Systems Administrator with VMWare vSphere, VMware VDI and LAN/SAN experience to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Raleigh, NC and is on site with no telecommute possibilities. This position will support the virtual desktop infrastructure. In this capacity, you will provide technical leadership in the design, installation, upgrade, configuration, and implementation of VMware's End-User Computing (EUC) products including but not limited to Horizon View, App Volumes, User Environment Manager, Workspace ONE, ThinApp, and vRealize Operations for Horizon.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
o Operational support of all Windows system administration within the EUC space including Windows Server and Windows Desktop Operating systems.
o Deploy and maintain secure desktop images in the VMware virtual desktop Infrastructure in accordance with policies and industry standards.
o Centrally store, manage, and maintain user preferences and data.
o Manage and maintain VMware AppVolumes managers, databases, App Stacks and writable volumes.
o The selected individual will work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
o May be required to create time sensitive deliverables.
o May lead project teams within assigned unit develop, plan and manage project tasks.
o Participate in the preparation of materials and oral presentations for customers and management.
o Play a lead role in meetings relating to specific technical projects or tasks.
o Respond promptly to incidents in ServiceNow.
o Will be assigned responsibility for advanced technical issues in the environment for problem resolution.
o Diagnose and repair system problems working closely with vendor support for all servers, software and other hardware directly or with the team members.
o Define, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot system performance of all EUC systems.

o Bachelor's Degree in Systems Analysis, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or associated discipline preferred and a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
o MUST have direct experience installing, configuring, and managing VMware software products including but not limited to Horizon View, App Volumes, User Environment Manager, Workspace ONE, ThinApp, and vRealize Operations for Horizon.
o Basic understanding of data center networking (TCP/IP, switching/routing, ports and protocols, firewall concepts, load-balancing).
o Strong, demonstrable scripting experience in one or more of the following: PowerShell, VBScript, C++, Unix Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, etc.
o Basic understanding of storage protocols (e.g. NFS, SMB, S3, FC, iSCSI, NVMe).
o Good knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy.
o Knowledge of MS Windows desktop operating systems including Windows 10 and MS Server 2012 & 2012 R2.
o Knowledge of MS database server SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 or 2014.
o Experience with hardening and improving the security of Windows operating systems and hardware platforms, local area networks, wide area networks, messaging, and client-server applications.
o Ability to develop and maintain IT documentation.
o Comfortable working in and making registry edits.
Preferred Qualifications:
o A current VMware Certification (preferably a VCP6-DTM or VCP7-DTM or VCAP6-DTM or VCAP7-DTM).
o Strong background in Desktop Virtualization: VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, Citrix; Microsoft RDS.
o Dell Wyse Configuration Manager experience and knowledge.
o Experience working in a large enterprise environment.
o Knowledge of storage area networks to include network operating systems, SAN protocols, SAN management, and SAN physical configuration.
o Knowledge of MSI and Windows Installer technologies for creating ThinApps and App Stacks.

Bachelor's Degree in Systems Analysis, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or associated discipline.
School must be accredited.
