Chipton-Ross is seeking a SystemsEngineer for an opening in Colorado Springs, CO.

Overview: Operate and maintain the Operations Sustainment and Support Element (OSSE) and other sustainment systems at the CISF, maintaining the operational baseline and cybersecurity posture to ensure a robust DW/DB delivery schedule. Build and deploy operating systems and COTS products in a virtualized environment using automated deployment tools. Platforms primarily include Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016. Develop scripts using PowerShell, VBScript, or other similar tools to improve administration automation. Apply cybersecurity best practices to ensure high compliance status is met. Maintain and develop documentation as necessary. Perform periodic COTS assessments to determine continued compliance, usage, and needs. Troubleshoot any issues and provide support across the Information System.
Develop and submit a Software Version Description for each release (CDRL A096).
Provide Software engineering analysis and support.
Maintain all operational SW and DBs for the Milstar and AEHF ground systems including:
Mission Planning Element (MPE)/Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS)
International Partners
Mission Ops Data Capture (MOD C)
Test and Training Simulation Element (TTSE)
Security releases for Windows and Unix platforms
Provide nominally one urgent out of cycle release over to resolve integration issues with emerging programs (examples FAB-T, G-ASNT, WEB-T, CSSP, etc.) and SV5 and/or SV6 (post SCA.)
Design, develop, and test software and database releases periodically and patches as needed. Perform internal deliveries of the products. The content and frequency of deliveries will be determined based on operational priorities and needs:
MOPS (ASMCS) and EAA software release nominally 2 per year
TTSE releases nominally 2 per year
Nominally once every 60 days will be delivered for all Windows and UNIX platforms: ASMCS, MPSS, EAA, TTSE, VPN-R, and LAN PC.
Additional releases to support dual MPSS Windows Inc. 8 baselines (Windows 7 and Windows 10) in the development and production/sustainment environments.
Additional releases to support dual T-MPSS operational baselines (Miltope HW/Windows 7 and Tech Refresh HW/Windows 7).
Additional releases to support International Partner Engineering Tool baseline
Produce and deliver 1 LAN Switch release per year.
Maintain and follow maintenance processes and procedures.
Collaborate with the MPE software development effort to perform operational deliveries. Perform release testing and release of emergency MPE sustainment releases of operational deliveries with Government reprioritization of available resources.
Provide Government access to:
a) QA checklists
b) Software Test Plan
c) Software Test Description
d) Software Test Report including summary of all tests conducted, problems encountered, impact assessment of problems encountered and other information as needed for a complete understanding of the implementation.
e) Contractor DR/SPR database
f) Applicable contractor change requests¿
Support organic transition with 517 SMXS (when established):
Coordinate planning and tracking of stakeholder progress toward readiness to transition.
Transition includes the turnover of all depot documentation maintained in Lockheed Martin's depot documentation system via media transfer in contractor format.
Providing 517 SMXS all information to ensure maintenance agreements are maintained
Providing 517 SMXS familiarization of maintenance processes and procedures including shadowing planned contractor depot activities and COOLR Depot Operations Manual implementation.
Also reference COOLR Core Sustainment PWS Section, and, Maintain and Operate the AEHF SW & DB Support Environments (see below).
The Contractor shall assist in the performance of some or all of the following subtasks as directed by the LM task manager:
Provide software and database engineering analysis and support.
Operate and maintain the Strategic SATCOM labs, the engineering tools and contractor facilities and HW & SW tools required to sustain the Milstar and AEHF systems and validate accuracy of all SW, DB, and command execution for all on-orbit satellites:
ASMCS Development Environment (ADE)
Provide, maintain, and upgrade as necessary all material, equipment, licenses, and warranties required to keep the support systems and facilities operational.
Identify equipment that is unstable and likely to fail. Submit an unfunded requirement request to cover cost to purchase or fix broken equipment.
Consolidate engineering tools and facilities as feasible to improve efficiency.
Perform the maintenance work necessary to keep the SW and Database development environments operational.
Maintain development and verification tools to include mitigating obsolescence and increasing tool efficiency through consolidation, or other actions.
Operate and maintain Computer networks, with associated routers, to support continued connectivity between the DVM and DTF CMS equipment.
Operate and maintain the interfaces to the AEHF Payload Engineering Model, Lockheed Martin Interface Unit (LMIFU), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWITL), Satellite Check Out Universal Test System (SCOUTS), and the test equipment used in the NAST-T.
Operate and sustain the NAST-T System/Spacecraft functionality (at least one RAD-6000 On-Board Computer (OBC) processing string, at least one RAD-750 OBC processing string, and simulated satellite string capability).
Provide high-speed data links between the various operational, sustainment, and factory sites.
Provide connectivity to the Networked AEHF System Test bed Tool (NAST-T).
Provide OSSE software/Pathfinder software/database updates as required to adequately sustain system within available resources.
Provide nominally Quarterly Security Releases to Windows and Unix Platforms to include OSSE and ASMCS Development Environment (ADE).
Perform Software CM.
Perform Software QA.
Maintain internal software documentation.
Follow internally-established and maintained software and database maintenance processes and procedures.
Conduct software sustainment and/or engineering analysis for Tech Refreshes, IA, logistics and sparing of the ADE, MTL, VMTL, and the SAFB TA Engineering String.
Upgrade and maintain the development and production/sustainment environments to support migration of operational Mission Planning Element (MPE) platforms from Windows 7/Server 2008 to Windows 10/Server 2016 operating system with the Secure Host Baseline (SHB) framework.
Perform technical refresh of OSSE workstations and VPN MPE Security Appliance Management Workstation (VPN MMW) in the development and production/sustainment environments once during the period of performance.

Must meet DOD 8570/8140 IAT Level II Requirement (current Security or similar)
Minimum 3 years Windows administration/engineering
Minimum 3 years VMWare or other virtualization platform experience
Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or similar automated deployment experience preferred
Networking experience preferred
Windows scripting experience preferred
Active Directory Domain Services and Group Policy Management knowledge
UNIX administration experience highly desired, especially Solaris 10 SPARC
Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices (patch management, STIG compliance, system accreditation, etc.)

Cross-domain knowledge would be highly desired
