Description
Chipton Ross is seeking a Chemist in King of Prussia, PA.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for generating analyses in support of Arkema's R&D programs, technical service and manufacturing efforts for the N. American Business Units. The data is generated for internal and external customers with moderate supervision. This position requires hands on laboratory work involving gas chromatography tools and methods in a dynamic laboratory environment shared with other team members. Work is to be performed in accordance to safe laboratory practices and with active participation in Arkema's safety initiatives and programs.

Responsibilities:
oPrepare and analyze samples using gas chromatography (40%).
oMaintain laboratory notebooks, analyze and interpret data, write technical reports, and propose additional experiments as needed (30%).
oCommunicate results to Group Leader and to internal customers (20%).
oPerform instrument maintenance and upkeep independently and via interfacing with instrument vendors as needed (10%).

Requirements:
oPrior industrial experience is required.
oDemonstrated ability to handle and work with hazardous materials, and to work safely and independently in a chemical laboratory environment.
oExperience using gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (FID) and thermal conductivity detection (TCD) for analysis of small molecules, including sample preparation, method development, and data analysis.
oExperience with various sample preparation techniques including dissolution, liquid-liquid extraction, microwave assisted extraction, and solid phase micro extraction.
oExperience using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry along with spectral interpretation is a plus.
oExperience using gas chromatography with sulfur chemiluminescence detection (SCD) is a plus.
oExperience using liquid chromatography is a plus.
oAbility to troubleshoot and repair chromatography instrumentation as needed.

Education:
oMaster's degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 3 years relative industrial experience OR a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 5 years relative industrial experience.

Schedule: First shift, full time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
