Chipton-Ross is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer for an opening in Camden, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for leading teams of embedded software developers in all phases of the software development life cycle. Responsibilities will include developing and tracking software development schedule, assigning tasking, managing cost accounts, interfacing and coordinating with other development disciplines, project engineering and program management. Additionally, the lead software engineer will oversee reviews, prepare and present technical briefings, report status, and participate in design and development activities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience leading a software development effort. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and exhibit effective time management and task ownership on their assignments. Proficiency with one or more programming languages, including Java, C/C++, Python. Ability to develop and maintain project software schedule, including budget tracking. Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle. Strong background in embedded software development. Knowledge of Object-Oriented Development methodologies and approaches. Good understanding of software development/test tools and software test methodologies. Experience in technical writing skills by generating technical documents in support of a software development project. Experience developing software using processes compliant with CMMI Level 3 or above.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Data Distribution Service (DDS) architecture and/or implementation. Java / HTML / JS and web application development highly desired. Java Frameworks Spring/SpringBoot, Angular, React. Experience with network stacks and network architectures. Knowledge and use of Embedded Linux Operating System and Eclipse based development environments. Knowledge of Board Support Packages and Device Driver concepts and implementation. Hands on software development using Agile methods and practices. Knowledge of (and experience with) Test Driven Development concepts. Knowledge of automated test frameworks and environments. Knowledge of communication and security related protocols (including but not limited to UDP, TCP, RTP, SRTP, VoIP, X.509 and SSL/TLS). Knowledge and use of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as INTEGRITY or VxWorks Experience with object-oriented model-driven design concepts, and usage in a tool such as IBM Rhapsody.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years minimum applicable experience required.

9/80, 1st Shift
Full-Time
