Chipton-Ross is seeking a Senior Java Developer for an opportunity in McLean, VA.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Postal Solutions Virtual Development Center, supporting the United States Postal Service on a mission critical web application. This position will be located in McLean VA.
This role is crucial to the success of our team. The successful job candidate must have excellent communication skills and be a detail-oriented self-starter. Will be required to coordinate with internal and external support teams, vendors, and manufacturers to resolve complex issues related to event, incident, and problem management. This person will be an individual contributor but will work well within and across teams to accomplish their tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement new functionality to web-based application/systems.
Efficiently resolve production support and technical issues through debugging, research and investigation.
Provide deployment and occasional off-hours production support.
Act as the technical lead on project by managing tasks, technical planning and mentoring junior developers.
Follow Agile methodology standards and procedures.
Perform unit tests for all products developed.
Responsible for estimating efforts based on requirements and adhering to estimates and timelines.
Satisfy customer requirements and adhere to the agreed upon delivery schedule.
MUST have Bachelor of Science degree (preferably, in a STEM field) and a minimum of 9 years of directly related work experience; OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 7 years directly related work experience.
Minimum 1 year experience as a technical lead.
5 years of application development and implementation experience.
5 years current experience with Java - Struts, J2EE , Java Core.
3 years current experience with Database Oracle (SQL queries).
Proven experience debugging and reverse engineering code to effectively resolve production issues.
Experience working on agile projects.
Must be able to quickly adapt to fast paced environment and immediately provide support to mission critical program.
Ability to develop strong customer relationships.
Should have excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English Language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
Cyber Security experience.
Familiarity with NIST, AS-805 Protocols.
DevSecOps integration experience.
Experience with JAVA Swing desktop development.
Experience with AJAX technologies such as jQuery and Dojo.
Experience across multiple IDEs and java containers.
MUST have Bachelor of Science degree (preferably, in a STEM field) OR a Master's degree. School must be accredited.
8am - 5pm.
