Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Principle Cyber Operator for an opportunity in Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Principal Cyber Operator will support the newly awarded, five year, Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) Cyber Defense Engineering and Training II (CDET II).
Duties:
Provide execute preventative measures to secure and fortify ground segment architecture of assigned Government IT systems.
Provide analysis and support for engineering and architecture considerations affecting DoD IT assets used to enable AF missions.
Perform architectural analysis and modeling that provides input for architectural artifacts (e.g., network diagrams).
Provide Enterprise Architecture products focused on cyber defense data flows/usage and transactions.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Analyses performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Responsible for analyzing and evaluating current and emerging technologies, COTS software, or GOTS software for potential insertion into existing systems or information systems under development.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Recommends plans to re-architect assigned Government IT systems to improve cyber resilience.
Responsible for evaluating the cyber defense systems and current ground segment architecture for the assigned Government IT systems being defended against the cyber risk management metrics, to include Evaluator's Scoring Metrics (ESM), and provide recommendations to fulfill cyber defense guidance and methodologies.
Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned. Works under general supervision.
Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Represents organization on specific projects.
Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments.
Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.
Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits.
Assist in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6-3), make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities.
Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pretest preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports.
Document the results of Certification and Accreditation activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M.
Periodically conduct a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with 5 Years relevant experience; 3 Years with Master; May consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree (Total of 9 years relevant experience with high school degree).
Minimum of 3 years of SIEM/IDS/IPS maintenance/implementation experience.
Must possess an active IAT II certification required: One required certification from the following: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH.
Must possess one active certification from the following CASP+ CE, CISSP (or Associate), CSSLP.
General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.

EDUCATION:
High School degree, Bachelor's or Master's degree is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
5/40 workweek.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
