Chipton-Ross is seeking a Project Management Analyst 4 or an opportunity in Newport News, VA.
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Leveling Factors: Knowledge, Skills and Ability Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks. Problem Solving Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies. Discretion/Latitude Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Impact Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization. Liaison Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations. PPE is required: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe boots.
Driving within the yard from building to building. Must use personal vehicle.
Bachelors in related field and 8 years of relevant professional experience. 4 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree. Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience. Master's Degree and 4 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
o Looking for a candidate with the ability to support the following abilities:
o Establish and implement programmatic structure. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal skills to enable others to adopt programmatic structure.
o Implement new PMO initiatives and lead efforts, requiring a willingness to lead and be out front including leading business reviews, presentations, etc.
o Need strong organization skills, high-level communication, ability to craft messages in power point, team player with ability to multi-task and get items over the goal line.
o Requires ability to have technical knowledge, discipline, communication skills, previous experience with project management and/or IT beneficial.
o Experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
o Ability to coordinate and assist cross functional groups with various efforts.
o A technical background with software implementation in large organizations and/or manufacturing and assembly experience is a plus.
Bachelor's Degree is required. See required experience for substitution.
School must be accredited.
7:30AM to 4PM
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
