Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Test Engineer for an opening in Eugene, OR.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Engineer III, Software Test will lead test development efforts through the generation of test protocols and a thorough understanding of the requirements and specifications for the systems under development for the Protein and Cell Analysis group within our Biosciences Division. As a Test Engineer III you will be responsible for planning and implementing testing strategies, reviewing requirements and specifications for testability, and leading test executions including formal plans and reports.

Develop a thorough understanding of the requirements (both explicit and implicit) of the system under development
Develop test cases and a test plan based on the requirements, specifications and release schedules.
Lead the Execution of the test plan during the development cycle and formal product verification.
Identify failures during test execution and log appropriate information needed to allow the developer to understand, reproduce, and address the issue
Exercise good judgment determining priority and severity of defects
Champion and track resolution of identified software issues.
Document and monitor testing outcomes and establish steps to remedy problems
Analyze current technologies used within the company and develop steps and processes to improve testing procedures
Properly document test cases and create effective and focused testing plans
Act as the test lead in a multi-function core team to determine schedule and resourcing needs for project including directing the day to day activities of other team members to achieve project goals..

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Three to five (3-5) years professional experience in commercial software testing,
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and determine root cause of defects
Demonstrated ability to write and evaluate project requirements and specifications.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve project goals and timelines.
Demonstrated risk-based mindset when evaluating and communicating test results and status
Ability to work independently to lead testing and direct resources during the planning and execution of test plans to verify individual system components as well as fully integrated platforms
Strong oral, written and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently as well as being able to collaborate across functions.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of relevant fields and techniques

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Previous industrial product development experience
Working knowledge of agile/scrum product development principles
Working knowledge with HPALM test software.
Knowledge of Biology or other related science.
Knowledge of product commercialization processes

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical or Natural Sciences, or related field

1st Shift
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
