- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist III for an opening in West Hills, CA.
Working within the Molecular Typing NGS group in R&D on new product feasibility, development, data analysis, verification, technology transfer, training, troubleshooting, and improving the existing HLA genotyping related products, reagents, and processes.
Design and execute sequencing-based molecular assay feasibility, development, and verification studies
Troubleshoot and solve difficult problems in the design/execution of development projects
Work on NGS library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis
Participate in interdepartmental activities and research efforts
Working with other scientists on assay development
Pragmatic self-starter who can manage self, motivate others, and operate effectively in a constantly changing environment
Broad and deep knowledge in NGS, DNA isolation and quantification, gene amplification methods, quantitative PCR, Sanger sequencing, and other relevant technologies
Well-founded formal problem-solving skills. Experience in designing experiments and interpreting complex data, and solve challenging issues to improve product performance with innovative approaches
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
Accredited Ph.D. Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline in Biological Sciences. OR a master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics or a related discipline in Biological Sciences AND 3 years of experience in product development focusing on NGS technology and its application.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
