Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist II for an opening in Fremont, CA.

Purification of ascities into purified antibodies via the usage of instrumentation or through manual processes.
Manufacturing of buffers, controls and calibrators using cGMPs. Transacting and closing out work orders using QAD Enterprising Applications. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Will perform troubleshooting and manage product issues. Interface with other departments as needed to ensure product is delivered on-time. Performs analytical and functional testing of products. Maintains and analyzes lot histories for trends and discrepancies. May write, review, and modify SOPs for PCO/DCO’s as needed. Investigate and resolve NCARs/CAPA. Conduct manufacturing accounting/work order transactions as needed. Keeps department lead or supervisors updated on all issues. Actively supports continuous improvement efforts, PPI, Lean, and 5-S programs. Perform other duties as assigned. Reviewing batch records and other documents. Quality Testing and qualifying material.
Assisting in final packaging process (folding packaging inserts and inserting finished goods into Kit packaging, etc.) Validations and process improvement activities
Cross training in all aspects of Immunohistochemistry formulation and manufacturing.

Must have excellent math and working knowledge of the metric system (weights & volumes). Working knowledge of computer applications (including Microsoft Word and Excel). Ability to demonstrate technical proficiency and troubleshooting/problem solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to react appropriately to changing priorities and impending deadlines. Ability to work and communicate effectively with team members at all organizational levels. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to work well with others and efficiently through short lead times when needed. Demonstrated good safety and quality practices. Experienced in working with potentially hazardous chemicals preferred.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus on binocular and stereo microscopes.

Accredited BS/BA in scientific discipline (i.e. chemistry/biochemistry/immunohistochemistry/chromatography) with a minimum of 4 year’s related experience and/or training preferred.

Shift: M-F, 8 hrs/day

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
