Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technical Writer for an opening in San Jose, CA.

This is a three-month contract for a technical writing position. Can be extended after an assessment of the impact.

Identify content reuse opportunities by developing a content analysis approach, and be able to play the role of a content architect. Educate team on this process. Research and develop metadata structure and taxonomy for content. Expert knowledge on CMS systems and help create workflow to meet the group and compliance needs. Proven skills and experience to build standards that can be adopted by other writing groups. Needless to say you must have expert-level knowledge of DITA and related content flows. Analyze and recommend translation process improvements. Analyze two CCMS systems that are currently used in-house and recommend which is suited best for long-term with use cases. Experience in building a unified content strategy and delivery will be a plus.

Experience in producing hardware or software documentation. Experience in creating topics using DITA framework and using CMS systems. Must be able to work independently. Familiarity with various style guides and industry standards for technical publications Experience in animations and videos is a definite advantage.

Accredited BS in physical science or BA in English, Communications, or similar field.
Professional experience will be considered.

Remote: Yes, EST time preferred; will work with Bangalore team/time zone.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
