Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 for an opening in El Segundo, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Mid-Level DSP Satellite Subsystems and Algorithms Engineer (Level 3), you will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil and/or national security programs. You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems. Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test. Candidates will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists. n: Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Designing and developing next generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
•Developing and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms
•Conducting performance analysis of signal processing models
•Performing waveform development and characterization
•Performing trade studies
•Supporting integration ant test of our payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations
•Supporting HDL-level design and verification
•Performing detailed system design and verification activities

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
•1+ years of experience with Matlab and/or Simulink
•3+ years of experience in digital signal processing or digital communications
•1+ years of experience in systems engineering concepts (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design)

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
•Experience working with ASICs or FPGAs
•Experience with performance characteristics of analog electronics or data converters (ADCs / DACs)
•Experience with digital/RF lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer)

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
