- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist II, Cell Biology for an opening in Frederick, MD.
The candidate will be required to maintain accurate lab notebooks and training files in accordance with relevant Client standards to support patent application and defense as well as other international standards (e.g., ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements, etc.).
Maintenance of primary cell and cell line cultures
Characterization of active cultures by microscopy or flow cytometry
Preparation and presentation of experimental data summaries
Interaction with scientists in other business units to troubleshoot problems and identify new opportunities
The successful candidate will have a strong background in cell culture and experience with culturing a variety of cell lines and/or primary cells. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with handling primary tissue, the evaluation of cells by microscopy, flow cytometry, Western blot, gene expression, or similar techniques. An innovative and curious mindset, attention to detail, and ability to multitask while maintaining a results-oriented focus are essential.
Must have strong cell culture experience (cell lines, primary cells, 2D & 3D culture)
Ideal candidate may also have experience with handling of primary tissue and evaluation of cultures via microscopy, Western blot, flow cytometry or gene expression
Excellent time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities
Excellent organizational skills
Strong background in cell culture with a Master’s degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related discipline plus 0-2 years’ experience. Candidate may also have a Bachelor’s degree plus 2-5 years’ experience.
1st Shift, 9am-5pm
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
