Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sr. Structures and Dynamics Engineer for an opening in Canoga Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist other analysts and designers engaged with development and production of new and existing liquid rocket engines, propulsion system components and secondary structure.
Perform structural and dynamics analyses utilizing class hand-calculation methods and finite element models.
Construct and solve static and dynamic finite element models using Nastran.
Participate in dynamic test planning and execution.
Correlate structural models to test results.

Interpret analytical results, assess design margins and prepare technical reports

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
-Must have experience using Nastran for Structural and Dynamic Analysis.
-Demonstrated experience performing linear, non-linear and structures and dynamics analyses supporting design, development and production qualification of new or updated products is required.
-Proficiency using finite element analysis tools such as Nastran is required.
-Knowledge and experience with aerospace product development efforts is desired.
-Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Power Point) is required.

EDUCATION:
Accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics and at least 5 years of engineering experience with structural analysis or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

9/80, 1st Shift
Full-Time


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
