Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineer Software 3 for an opportunity in Newport News, VA.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
Seeking experienced Industrial Controls - Programmable Logic Controller – Experts. Will be engaged in code review, code testing, simulation development, code deployment and commissioning, test tool development, end user interfacing, training, and operating manual development, configuration management, and field service coverage, including systems troubleshooting and analysis. Industrial control systems with experience in Rockwell (Allen Bradley) RsLogix 5000, Studio5000, PLC/HMI programming.
The candidate will demonstrate strong technical leadership, be self-motivated, possess the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple task assignments with limited oversight; ability to properly assess situations, identifying issues and concerns, determining solutions, and proactively communicating with project/test leads and department managers to facilitate risk mitigation; interface with in-house technical and engineering staff, and equipment vendors for issues concerning technical information and specifications.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree and school must be accredited. See requirements for trade offs.


HOURS:
5/40 work week.
7:30 AM to 4PM
This position MAY have the opportunity for part time telework.
Travel will be required 25% of the time.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
