Chipton-Ross is seeking a HR Specialist III for an opening in Carson, CA.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Specialist III will be responsible for managing all Payroll administration, union pension funding, union dues payments processing, 401K funding processing, Leave of Absence Administration (LOA / FMLA), benefits coordination, wellness administration and various other duties as directed. Will be responsible for ensuring compliance to applicable local and federal laws. Will provide customer support to employees by serving as local the primary contact for payroll, 401(k) and Leave of Absence administration, questions and issue resolution. Will serve as liaison between business unit and Safran Shared Services payroll. Will lead and / or support continuous improvement practices and initiatives for assigned responsibilities.

" Responsibilities include managing Payroll administration and processing for WWS and Monogram Trains, to include review and validation of timecard entries, review and balancing of preview payroll batches, the management of employee pay profiles, and the processing of leaves and terminations.
" Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing iniatives to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
" Ensures pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
" Partner with local HR team and Shared Services HR team to ensure payroll data flows seamlessly between HR and Payroll and ensure changes are implemented correctly across pay and time attendance system(s).
" Reconciles and documents all changes each pay period with Finance leadership, including additions, pay changes, leaves and terminations.
" Will input, update, and correct system data as required.
" Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
" Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors and / or organizational leaders.

" Manages all administrative aspects of FMLA, ADA, Workers' compensation leaves to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with the HR Generalist to ensure that pay for associates is accurate and correct.
" Works closely with employees and HR Generalist to ensure that all relevant completed documentation is submitted for timely review and processing.
" Maintains appropriate contact with all employees on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for associates on leave.

" Provides support to employees with benefits enrollment issues and questions.
" Verifies insurance billing and processing.
" Ensures compliance with required benefit notices.

" Coordinates Wellness activities with oversight from the EHS Manager.
" Serves as business unit wellness champion for SPS Wellness Program.

" Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
" Apply knowledge of both local and state payroll regulations including wage and hour laws to ensure compliance

" Other duties as assigned.

" Minimum 5+ years' equivalent experience in payroll or similar Accounting position. Strong background in payroll laws/regulations with experience in ADP or similar software required. Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal employment Leave laws, as well as Benefits coordination.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
" Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
" Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
" Computer Skills - Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Proficiency with ADP, SAP, and other related payroll processing software.

" While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
" The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
" The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
" Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Finance, or comparable discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

1st Shift, M-F 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
