Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler for an opening in Fremont, CA.

SUMMARY:
We’re seeking a strong electro-mechanical assembler (temporary) who will build, test, integrate, troubleshoot, and qualify electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for our systems following standard practices and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reads and interprets schematics and assembles a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, or opto-mechanical sub-assemblies. Follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to specifications. Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and optical systems. Work with manufacturing engineers to resolve incoming quality or design issues. Making suggestions on current schematics and mechanical drawings is also encouraged.

REQUIREMENTS:
Typically requires greater than 5 years of related experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrate the required skills. Must have experience using basic hand tools to assemble and disassemble equipment, including screwdrivers, wrenches, soldering equipment, cable cutters & strippers, etc. General understanding of electrical power flow. Comfortable with repetitive task. Proficient computer skills using Windows, MS Office, and other PC-based software. Able to safely lift and manipulate 50 pounds. Must be able to read technical drawings including assembly drawings, BoMs, schematics, etc. Excellent manual dexterity - able to work with small objects and microscopes. Quick learner with verbal and written instructions. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Fluent in English with good communication skills; must be able to write daily pass downs. Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance. Punctual, Dependable and results-driven. Engaged and committed team professional. Strong work ethic driven by manufacturing timelines. Independent thinker and self-learner. Safety conscience. Ability to balance competing priorities and tight deadlines.

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED
Associate’s or Bachelor’s in a technical discipline preferred.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
Day shift, 8 hours per day, normal shift usually start around 7:00 am (but flexible)

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
