Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Construction Supervisor for an opening in San Diego, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, deliver, and present project plans and schedule.
Develop contract documents for work activities (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical); lead job walks; support proposal review and selection.
Review and approve construction submittals.
Present Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) requirements to contracted workers coming onsite, review plans for safety concerns, and monitor job site for safe practices.
Proactively monitor and verify work activities are progressing according to schedule; identify concerns and develop mitigations. Report on project status.
Conduct inspection and operational verification of installed components and systems, includes equipment such as pumps and motors, in accordance with design drawings/specifications and industry practices.
Verify quality of work and coordinate inspection by the Quality Assurance group.
Review and approve invoices.
Manage change orders and revision of contract documents.
Create punch lists and see-through correction of defective work.
Supervise system startup and commissioning.
Supervises the budgetary, costing and final inspection of construction projects.
Supervises outside contractors and conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to construction requirements.
Ensures compliance with company policy, procedures and safety regulations.
Documents and maintains required paperwork pertaining to work projects.
Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:
May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Must demonstrate expertise of building and site design, construction, operation and maintenance as well detailed and extensive knowledge of design and construction methods and processes related to building construction and maintenance. Must have knowledge of codes, standards and regulations as they apply to design, construction, operations and maintenance of buildings and building sites. Must be able to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones. Must be customer focused and possess: (1) a valid California driver's license with a good driving record verified by the DMV; (2) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data; (3) good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including management and external parties; (4) strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees; (5) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; (6) the ability to select, train, and motivate personnel; (7) the ability to represent the company on external projects; and (8) strong computer skills. Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required

• Must have knowledge of codes, standards and regulations as they apply to design, construction, operations and maintenance of buildings and building sites.
• Must be able to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones.
• Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data; (2) good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including management and external parties; (3) strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees; (4) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; (5) the ability to represent the company on external projects; and (6) strong computer skills.
• Must be able to work extended hours and travel as required.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, facilities management or a related discipline and nine or more years of progressive professional experience in construction or facilities management with at least three of those years in a management role.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
