Chipton-Ross is seeking a Buyer for an opening in Middletown, VA.
Coordinate activities involved with procurement of Direct Materials to support the production schedule and Indirect Materials such as equipment, tools and supplies to support the facility.
Obtain quotations and place purchase orders with suppliers utilizing the plant MRP system to determine quantities and delivery against the current Master Production Schedule
Review scheduled purchases weekly or as required and reschedule in order to maintain support for the production schedule and control inventory levels within established guidelines. Update ERP system accordingly with any changes.
Provide updates to Planners and other stakeholders on status of orders and deliveries that would affect the production schedule
Procurement experience utilizing MRP II software in a manufacturing environment, SAP preferred.
Strong communication and prioritization skills to enable working with multiple vendors and internal stakeholders across the product categories assigned
Attention to detail
Good planning, organizational and time use skills enabling management of multiple competing priorities and follow through on all commitments.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
